Tree
Rainbow Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus deglupta Blume
The Philippines to New Guinea
Fun factOne of the world's fastest-growing trees: it has been recorded growing 10 m in less than 18 months and reaching 30 m tall in seven years in Hawaii.
A large evergreen tree of wet lowland tropical rainforest. Its smooth bark peels in long strips, exposing bright green new bark that darkens through blue, purple, orange and maroon, so a single trunk shows several colours at once. It is among the fastest-growing trees in the world, recorded reaching 10 m in under 18 months and 30 m in seven years in Hawaii.
